你好 (Ni hao = Hallo) lovely people out there. We created this blog in order to keep you guys updated on our backpacking trip through China. Gregor and I have been traveling since 20th May 2015 and this is our first post.
We landed in Shanghai on 20th May 2015 and took the Maglev (German: Transrapid) from the airport to downtown Shanghai. It is, to my knowledge, still the only operating Maglev in the world and can reach up to 430km/h.
Once we arrived in downtown Shanghai we had to take the obligatory
picture at the Bund with one of the most beautiful skylines in the world.

We spent the rest of the day getting some organizational things done, such as buying SIM cards (always buy China Unicom!). We had dinner at Gintei Teppanyaki and enjoyed all-you-can-eat-and-drink (YES) Japanese food.
Afterwards, we somehow ended up in Muse (one of my favorite clubs in Shanghai).
